DIY recipesĀ usingĀ baking sodaĀ (sodium bicarbonate). These are safe, simple, and sustainable recipes for us eco-warriors!
𦷠1. Natural Toothpaste
Ingredients:
2 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp coconut oil
3ā5 drops peppermint essential oil
Optional: ½ tsp xylitol (for sweetness)
Instructions: Mix all ingredients into a smooth paste. Store in a small glass jar. Use a pea-sized amount to brush your teeth naturally.
š§¼ 2. Gentle Face Scrub
Ingredients:
1 tbsp baking soda
1 tsp water or aloe vera gel
Instructions: Mix into a paste. Gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions. Rinse and follow with your favourite moisturiser. Use 1ā2x per week for glowing skin.
š 3. Detox Bath Soak
Ingredients:
½ cup baking soda
½ cup Epsom salts
Optional: 10 drops lavender or eucalyptus essential oil
Instructions: Add all ingredients to warm bath water. Soak for 20ā30 minutes to draw out toxins and soothe tired muscles.
š§½ 4. All-Purpose Cleaner
Ingredients:
2 tbsp baking soda
2 cups warm water
1 tbsp liquid Castile soap
Optional: 10 drops lemon or tea tree essential oil
Instructions: Combine in a spray bottle. Shake before use. Great for kitchen counters, sinks, and even toddler toys!
š£ 5. Foot Deodorizing Soak
Ingredients:
¼ cup baking soda
1 basin of warm water
Optional: 5 drops peppermint essential oil
Instructions: Soak feet for 15ā20 minutes. Helps reduce odour, soften skin, and refresh tired feet.
š„¬ 6. Fruit & Veggie Wash
Ingredients:
1 tbsp baking soda
1 bowl of water
Instructions: Soak fruits and veggies for 5ā10 minutes, scrub gently, and rinse. Removes pesticides and dirt without harmful chemicals.
